Plan a private reunion in Dubai at Someone’s House, where Alper Alhan’s interior pairs an industrial past with a home’s familiar details for invited friends.

Someone’s House occupies a former industrial garage on Al Khayat Avenue in Al Quoz, Dubai, where architect Alper Alhan designed an interior with familiar home details. For a friend’s reunion in Dubai, dinner takes place among books and objects selected for the House. Music belongs in the plan, too, with private listening evenings as one of the venue’s event formats.

The House began with a desire for interiors that carried a sense of life, an idea developed around kitchens and places for conversation. As Alhan worked through the materials and furniture, the venue’s industrial past remained part of the design.

Site selection began in 2025, when Asil Ersoydan sought a Dubai address accessible to the artists and hosts he wanted to welcome. Al Khayat Avenue was selected as the location for the project. In the published account, the search for a building with a past was part of the concept itself. The garage provided that history, with its existing fabric retained, as the venue acquired its domestic interior.

As the concept developed, a salon and quieter corners appeared in the design narrative, with a garden placed above the main activity. You can trace the residential thinking in those choices: places for shared gatherings alongside areas for smaller conversations. The concept’s long, winding corridor introduced another residential feature, described in the design account as a passage that encouraged a slower pace; places for work featured in the early plan alongside the shared areas.

Inside the Former Garage

In addition to the former garage’s raw surfaces, Alper Alhan introduced finished wood as part of the interior’s material palette. Metal and stone continue to play a substantial role in the setting. On arrival, guests encounter the garage door and then the furnished interior, where the earlier industrial use remains visible.

Pastel clay tones appear near sharper greens in the palette, with color contributing to the residential character of the House’s design. Elsewhere, warm ivory appears beside darker earth tones. Modern and vintage furniture occupy the same interior, where hand-painted tiles introduce another texture.

Different generations within a home inform the House’s account of Alhan’s design, which places older forms beside contemporary lines. Among the furnishings, vintage objects carry that idea into the interior, where comfortable sofas accompany the harder architectural materials. The team describes that relationship through a father’s heavier aesthetic beside his daughter’s brighter energy, an image behind the material choices.

Books and Art Beside the Table

Along the double-height library wall, books and art objects form a display that extends upward through the interior. The collection includes newer names alongside established artists. Near the seating, guests encounter artwork in the areas they use during a gathering. Selected pieces are available to purchase; availability is confirmed for the individual work.

Among the larger objects, a classic automobile has a place in the venue’s visual identity, described in its design story as a sculptural element. Its inclusion follows the House’s interest in objects with a past. Across the interior, the artwork changes as different pieces join the collection. During a visit ahead of a reunion, you can see what is currently displayed and discuss the table arrangement for your group.

Dinner at the House

The kitchen island appears in the House’s design story as a gathering place, with uses that change according to the evening’s format. Friends can gather around the island during a dinner-led evening. In the House’s account, the same area takes on a musical role when a DJ occupies the center. Its use for your reunion is agreed alongside the food arrangements, so the island’s place in the evening follows the actual event plan.

Private dinner requests include the option to work with your own chef, and food support is available to discuss as an addition to the booking. You have the option to choose a meal for the friends attending. If the group used to cook together, a chef-led dinner could be one direction for the reunion. Food arrangements for the event have been agreed; the kitchen’s use is part of that discussion.

Music That Belongs to the Group

Guests use their own playlists at Someone’s House, so the music for a reunion can come from the people attending it. For friends who first met through music, the evening offers time to listen to a favorite recording together. The House hosts private listening gatherings, where selected tracks accompany conversation. You can plan that as the main event or as part of an evening that begins with dinner.

Private DJ sets or live music are options for friends who want a performance to form part of their reunion. You can request those additions during the discussion of the evening. If the group includes musicians who want to play together, private jam sessions are possible at the House. The instruments and performance requirements belong in that initial conversation, so the team can review the requested setup for the booking.

Photographs with a Place in the Evening

Personal archive nights are among the House’s event concepts, with photographs or private films providing material for an invited gathering. During a reunion, a collection from earlier years offers another way to use the venue. For a shared viewing, a short film belongs within its private screening offering. Printed photographs are a simpler option for a dinner-led evening, placed among the table’s personal details.

Your Reunion at Someone’s House

Someone’s House takes private bookings for an agreed period, with the venue reserved for your event and the people you invite. Use the booking page to submit your preferred date, guest count, and a description of the reunion. During an appointment to see Alhan’s interior, you can discuss dinner or music in the setting where your friends would spend the evening.
