Someone's House to Host Dubai Gala for Turkish Film ‘Aşk ve Yemek’

A major new Turkish film will celebrate its international debut in Dubai. Someone's House, the city's premier private event and gala space, will host the exclusive gala for the romantic comedy ‘Aşk ve Yemek’ (Love and Food) on October 4, 2025.

The gala will welcome the film’s celebrated cast and creative team to Dubai for a private premiere for the movie’s official theatrical release. Produced by a consortium that includes SBS Medya, Q Medya, B12 Medya, and Famelog Content, and distributed by A90 Pictures, ‘Aşk ve Yemek’ is poised to be one of the year’s most talked-about family comedies.

A Story of Family, Food, and Unexpected Turns

‘Aşk ve Yemek’ tells a warm and humorous story centered on a family of kebab chefs from Adana. The four siblings—Civan, Derviş, Feride, and Ruşen—are bound by their family ties and dedication to their father’s culinary legacy. Their lives are chaotic when the middle brother, Ruşen, involves the family in a scheme that forces them to leave their home and start anew.

The three other siblings decide to leave Ruşen behind and set out for Samsun to build a new life. Their journey, however, takes an unexpected detour that lands them in the picturesque city of Tokat. This accidental stop creates a profound change. New circumstances shape the path of each sibling. Connections form, and definitions of family evolve. The storyline centres on strength, emotional exchange, and familial structure, with humour integrated throughout.

The Acclaimed Cast and Creative Team

The film assembles a brilliant cast of Türkiye’s most respected actors. Uğur Güneş, known for his charismatic screen presence, portrays Civan, the strong older brother who works to keep the family together. Hande Doğandemir appears as Feride, one of the story's powerful female characters. The acclaimed Hatice Aslan plays the family matriarch, providing the film's emotional anchor.

The talented ensemble also includes Osman Sonant as the quirky and obsessive brother Derviş, and Bülent Şakrak as Ruşen, the troublemaker who sets the story in motion. Müge Uğurlar guides a cast shaped by comic instinct and tonal control. The script, written by Makbule Kosif and Derya Kara, establishes the framework. The dynamic performances are set to make ‘Aşk ve Yemek’ a stunning cinematic event.

A Cinematic Postcard from Tokat

The film's setting is a character in its own right. The production was filmed in Tokat, a city in northern Türkiye known for its natural beauty and culinary history. The region's green landscapes and historic architecture provide a beautiful backdrop for the movie. Tokat's unique culture and famous Tokat kebab are woven into the film’s cameras. The movie presents the warmth of a family kitchen and the lovely scenery of the Turkish countryside.

A Word from the Chairman

Asil Ersoydan, the Chairman of Someone's Entertainment Group, commented on the collaboration. The chairman reaffirmed the Group’s long-term orientation toward supporting artistic production and creative expertise. Performing arts remain a defined priority for the Group, which maintains ongoing support for professionals engaged in the field worldwide.
